Some of you may not know that our esteemed Wacker foundation member, CAPRIOSKA is the proud owner of the world's biggest headband collection.
Caprioska has 100's of them in all sorts of sizes and colours, some are museum pieces dating back to when he first stepped foot on a tennis court as a shy 9 year old back in his native Moscow. A couple of these form pride of place in his collection.
" They were made by my Grandmother Babuska" tells Caprioska
"She made all of my first tennis outfits, including my socks and shorts, you see material was quite scarce back then so she made it from the old red rug that was in our family for 90 years.
"In fact the head band still has the stain marks where great Uncle Stanislav spilt his bed pan back in 1917, the very day that the revolution started.
"Some times I get that headband out for inspiration when my form goes off. I remember how great I felt that day when I stepped on the court in my bright red tennis attire, all the other comrades were dressed in dreary old grey, but not me, I felt like a fire engine and I also got a Lenin medal for patriotisim, just for wearing it.
"It helps me to regain focus and I find that I play better tennis after wearing it for a while"
Other Caprioska favorites include his 1970's Borg terry towelling, red white and blue retro head band with matching wrist bands.
"They are a sure winner, I used to get lots of looks from the girls when I wore them as a young 20 year old in St Petersburg.

I dug this old thread out because I noticed a new dark blue headband and matching wrist band set on Caprioska last Sunday.
It seemed to work a treat as his form was good, and also he did not curse as much as usual!

Headbands are so eighties, bandanas are cool though. Sorry.
