CapCup Rules and Reglament
As the cup is getting more and more popular, it's time to get the rules right.
Rule 1.
The CapCup is a team event - title and prize are awarded to a team of two
Rule 2.
The minimum number of contenders participating in the cup is four (see Rule 1)
Rule 3. Four players
Four contenders play normal sets and the winning team is determined in a traditional (and trivial) way
Rule 4. 8 players
4.1 Eight contenders play on two courts. Every team plays with every other team - altogether six sets. The winner is decided by the maximum number of points. For each set won teams receive two points, for each set lost - 0 points, for a draw - one point each (see 4.4)
4.2 If three teams won two sets each, the winner is decided by the better games difference.
4.3 If two teams won two sets each the winner is decided by result of the set between them
4.4 When two teams on one court have completed their set, and two other teams have not, the second pair is allowed to finish the current game and then completes the set regardless of the score. The leading team (at this point) is considered a winner. In case of a draw, two teams split the points - one point each.
Rule 5. 12 and more players
Twelve and more contenders - TBA
Rule 6. Seeded players and draw
Half of cup players are seeded based on their cup ranking. The other half is allocated to the teams based on mutual agreement
Rule 7. Decider set
When running out of time it's acceptable to play decider set as professional tiebreak set (first to 10 points).
