Wackers,
I got my MRI results from the surgeon last night (Thursday 13th) and found that I have a lateral meniscus tear in my right knee, and a potential ACL rupture. I definitely need an arthroscopy, so the surgeon can attempt to save the l.meniscus or cut it all away. If the ACL is ruptured then he'll splice my left hammy and repair this with the new graft, all in one op.
So lads, the surgeon has instructed me not to play any pivotal sports, till I have surgery, which means tennis is out for a while. I can still bike ride, jog and go to the gym so can keep fit.
I'm absolutely gutted, but at least I know what to expect and be even hungrier to get back to tennis.....but fingers crossed I won't need an ACL recon....gulp....and won't be out for long.....
Anyway in the mean time I'll be purchasing the latest tennis game for my PS3 so I'll keep my eye in so feel free to drop by and take me on - plus a few bevvies!
WBonL, can't make next Wed but will pop down the following (26th) to delve into some donkey's nobs and a few beers from 9.30pm.
Speak soon, Yuppie.

"Very Soft" Yuppie A good wacker would ignore all medical advice and play on regardless of the consequences. A bit of electrical tape around the offending knee and some denco rub would suffice. If the pain continues a few beers at changeovers would help.
You have dissapointed us all.
You would not see the barrell, tinto or swiss cheese let a meniscus tear get in the way of a hit.
When has lateral movement been a part of any of our games, you know a favourable line call against the opposition has allways been the best way around a dodgy knee.
Very Dissapointed.
